So this post is more personal than just for the photos! I love sharing experiences that photography allows me to capture to remember forever. If you saw my last post, you know my sis Emilee competed at a national fitness competition in Chicago! If you didn't see the last post, you've got to check it out! My sisters, mom, and I flew out to Chicago on Wednesday June 14th! I was a little sad when I found out we wouldn't be in more of the city (I wanted to see the bean but it was WAY far) but we were there for her competition so of course it didn't matter. The weather was soooo pretty!

Thursday Emilee had athlete check-ins & routine practice. Since she's in the fitness division, she has a routine with strength moves, tumbling, and dancing in addition to posing. I had a shoot with a cheerleader who'd just won Worlds with Lady Lightning! I'll blog her shoot soon :)

Then Friday was prejudging! I kept calling it prelims, like at Worlds haha. This was the day the competitors were judged, and the judges would make any other calls the next night at finals. Emilee's makeup was done by Chanel Molleo, instagram @chanelmolleobeauty & she is seriously incredible. It was way fun to watch the other fitness girls from Pro Physiques too!

She got a burger that night which was way exciting, then had finals on Saturday. We all got fancy and headed over to watch the show and awards.

She ended in second place, which was hard for all of us because she was so hoping for first. In this national competition, IFBB Pro cards were given for first place in each fitness class. We had our little moment of disappointment and then she immediately decided what could be done next. So, in less than a week we will be leaving for Team Universe in New Jersey! I seriously don't know how she pulled her focus back together so quickly. She's next-level and when she gets to that Pro stage she's going to be unstoppable.
