Dallas 2019
DALLAS 2019!!! I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to this trip! **insert all of the heart eye emojis**
It was the best of times. There were a few team shoots, some individual & friend shoots, and I got to watch some of the NCA competition too. My cousin’s team performed too, and it was awesome to be able to cheer them on!
Here is a recap of the trip! Be sure to check out the story highlight on my Instagram profile for more behind the scenes.

So first of all, it was freezing!! The first day of shoots started in the morning and I headed to the Convention Center to do some location scouting. I packed tonsss of layers for this trip and wore gloves to all of my shoots so my hands were warm enough to use my camera haha. It was kind of exciting at shoots though, the cold added a weird energy because I would try to get shots quickly so the cheerleaders could warm up with jackets in between poses.
My first shoot was with Legacy Allstarz Junior Steel all the way from Canada! These girls were the absolute sweetest and were such troopers in the cold. I kept reminding the girls it was just a little bit of time in the cold, but they’d have these photos to remember the amazing time in Dallas forever! It was so cute, they would all huddle together with blankets in between pictures. The coaches and parents were all so nice!
After shooting with Junior Steel, I traveled to the coolest hidden place to shoot with Cheersport Great White Sharks! I shot with this team last year in Dallas, and all of the coaches and cheerleaders were the nicest!! I was sooo excited to shoot again.
We wanted to do a different location than last year but keep the white, natural, glowy look, and this place captured it so perfectly. I loved seeing everyone again! The team went on to win NCA, and became back to back National Champions!
Next was another team from Canada, PCT Vengeance! We started with this really cool industrial place I found during the morning, then walked around a bit for some of the team shots. I was super excited these girls wanted some more of the creative friend shots toward the end. :)

The second day was a little more laid back! My mom owns a custom rhinestone apparel company for teams and individuals called Allstar Cheer Bling, and she flew in this morning to meet with some of her clients in person (and watch my cousin compete!). It was super fun to see her there.
In the morning, I started the day with my cousin! London is so cute and we just did a quick 30 minute shoot before she got her full competition hair and makeup ready.
Next I got to shoot with Kellie from ECE C5! It’s always way fun as a cheer photographer to shoot with athletes from big-name teams. :) Her mom was the nicest and reached out to me while we were there in Dallas, which is always super exciting! They were so fun and I loved meeting them. This is probably one of my all-time favorite shoots!
After Kellie’s shoot, I watched some of the competition in the arena!

Then I got to shoot with Madi & Jazlyn! They were the cutest ever. We wanted to shoot together at Summit last year, but they were at D2 so we didn’t get a chance to connect. I was so excited to hear they’d be here in Dallas! I was really nervous we were going to have to move their photos back in the day because it was so rainy looking, but the clouds held and we were all good with beautiful lighting! It did start to have misty rain a tiny bit toward the end of their shoot, and it’s really cute because you can see the little drops in their hair in some of the ending photos. :)

Sunday was so much fun! I had finished my portraits for the time in Dallas, so I got to just hang out and watch the competition. I wasn’t expecting to spend so much time watching and oh my gosh I just loved it! The amount of talent in the arena is insane!
I took a lot of pics from the stands, but my friend Jen of Front Row Photos (who I was so happy I got to say hi to there!) was taking the real action. Follow her on Instagram if you don’t already, @frontrowcheer photos !!
Here are some favorites I snapped, some are never before seen, ooooh exciting. PS, if you click the image it will expand to show the whole photo rather than a square if there is a full picture.

Dallas was so incredible!!
Biggest thanks to everyone who was a part of this year! I loved creating and exploring new places. Meeting so many new friends was seriously the best! So grateful to be a part of the coolest industry and capture these amazing moments.
